The in the elderly sounds like a great project.

The implementation of a screening tool to assess
delirium in the elderly
sounds like a great project.  Elderly patients are at risk for being misdiagnosed their signs and
symptoms of delirium as psychotic symptoms or “sundowning syndrome” especially
if they have a psychiatric diagnosis (Targum, 2001).  Since working in psychiatric emergency room,
we encounter a lot of these instances. It is crucial to assess and manage delirium in
elderly to reduce morbidity and mortality. The confusion assessment method for
intensive care unit (CAM-ICU) is reported as a screening tool with higher
specificity compared to Delirium Rating Scale-revised version (DRS-R) by Grover
& Kate (2012).
