Factor and the adoption of cloud computing technology [88].

Factor 6:  Top Management Support

Top
management support refers to the decision makers who influence the adoption of
innovation 28 and is which described by 29 as goal specificity, resource
management, and commitment. Thus, the role of top management support is crucial
to success the adopting of new technology. Therefore, Top management support is
regarded in many studies as an important factor influencing the adoption of
technology innovation 30– 32.

Hypothesis 6: Top
management support will impact the adoption of cloud computing positively.

Factor 7: Industry
Sector

IT
has a major impact on how enterprises manage their business but the role of IT
in an

organization
differs, depending on the sector 86.

Hypothesis 7:
Industry sector will impact the adoption of cloud computing positively.

Factor 8:
Organizational culture

The
organizational structure of the organization will have also a contribution on
the adoption of cloud computing.

Hypothesis 8: Organizational
culture will impact the adoption of cloud computing solution positively.

Factor 9:
Organizations structure

The
agility of the organizational structure has an impact on the adoption of cloud
computing solution.

Hypothesis 9:
Organizational structure will impact the adoption of cloud computing solution
positively.

Environmental Context

Factor 10:
Competitive Pressure

Competitive
pressure may be a factor which influences the adoption of cloud computing. It
has been argued that competitive pressure is very influential in the adoption
of technology in general 87 although one study found that there is no
relation between the competitive pressure and the adoption of cloud computing
technology 88.

Hypothesis 10:
Competitive pressure will impact the
adoption of cloud computing positively.

Factor 11:
External Support

External
support in this seminar refers to the support from the cloud service provider
to

influence
clients to adopt cloud technology.

Hypothesis 11: External support will
impact cloud computing solution positively.

Factor 12:
Government Support

Government
support in this context is understood as the regulation, policies and
initiatives that

support
enterprises in the adoption of cloud computing. Government support can play a
great role in adopting cloud computing technology in once country. Government
can support by implementing favourable policies and regulations for cloud
computing adoption.

Hypothesis 12:
Government support will impact cloud computing solution adoption positively.

Organizational, Technology context

Factor 13:
Risk

Risk
refers to the uncertainty on the outcome of the innovation.

Hypothesis 13:
Risk will impact the adoption of cloud
computing solution negatively.

Factor 14:
Trust

Trust
between the cloud technology provider and the client is important for the adoption
of cloud computing solution. This can be seen from two perspectives, the first
is between the technology vendor or supplier of cloud computing and the
operator. And the other is between the operator and the users of that operator.

Hypothesis 14:
Trust will impact the adoption of cloud
computing solution positively.

Factor 15: Relative
advantage

Relative
advantage is defined as “the degree to which an innovation is perceived as
being better than the idea it superseded” 40. Cloud computing offers
technical as well as economic advantages over traditional IT environments. 89

Hypothesis 15:
Relative advantage will impact the adoption of cloud computing positively.

Factor 16: Compatibility

Compatibility
refers to which extent the new innovation fits with existing organisation’s
values, culture and practices 90.

Hypothesis 16:
Compatibility will impact the adoption
of cloud computing solution negatively.

Factor 17: Complexity

Complexity in
DOI terms was defined as “the degree to which an innovation is perceived as
relatively difficult to understand and use” 90.

Hypothesis 17:
Complexity will impact the adoption of cloud computing negatively.

1.5.3.3. Generating the questionnaire

A questionnaire
is generated using the hypothesis defined above. The questionnaire has two
sections; the first section of the survey contained items which asks about respondent’s
demographic characteristics. And the second section of the survey focuses on
gathering the response of the respondents on the questionnaire related to our
seminar area. Each items of the questionnaire are measured using a five-point
Likert scale anchored by “strongly disagree” and “strongly agree”.1.5.3. Secondary data source

Secondary
sources like journal articles, books and internet sources has been used for
this seminar to support the primary data. A reference has been indicated
whenever it is used.
