Center for Planning Excellence presents annual Smart Growth Summit

The Louisiana Smart Growth Summit is an annual convening in downtown Baton Rouge of elected officials, engaged citizens and local, national, and international experts in community planning and growth.

This year, KidsWalk Coalition program manager Matthew Rufo will speak about the public health impact of “Complete Streets” and what the Coalition is doing to make New Orleans’ streets safer for children and families to walk and bicycle around their communities. This session will take place Friday August 19 at 1:30pm.

The conference will address many of the critical issues in Louisiana today, including: transportation and connectivity, coastal living, healthy communities, sustainable design, crime prevention, innovative school system solutions and much more. This year’s summit will offer continuing education opportunities for planners, architects, landscape architects, engineers, realtors, and attorneys.
